Some More Logo & Name Ideas...

I think I might have found the answer in one of my two latest ideas. The first is Mythic Media: I already have a Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University in Strategic Communications dealing with a lot of media outlets and planning for them. Now with my eventual degree from CCAD I think the media term fits nicely. Mythic because deep down I love fantasy/science fiction and want to incorporate it into my works. The M's of the words I designed to look like helmets belonging to some sort of Spartans or warriors.

The next one suddenly came to me- Kid Ninja. Yep, I think on a personal level this probably describes me better than any of the other names I've came up with so I quickly drew it in Illustrator. But after thinking about it I think this one should be hand drawn. I really can see this being used in my videos, it's simple, unique, and to the point. I am the Ninja's #1 fan.

Initial Logos...

So for my portfolio class last semester our instructor asked us to come up with some logos if you ever would have a production company. He wanted the name to reflect aspects of your own personality, you know, make it your own. So after much sketching and thinking I came up with...Second Hand Studios and Infinite World. To be honest with you, they're both kind of 'meh' to me. And the fact is if that's my interpretation then how would other people feel about it? Second Hand because I have this innate fascination with the number '2' and Infinite World because I find myself drifting off all the time to different places. But neither of these screams Curtiss and the direction I'd like to go.

About 'The Elmo Story'

I’m proud to show this work to everyone. 110% of myself went into all aspects of this project, which I can honestly say I haven’t done until now. I hope you enjoy this.

As soon as I thought up the concept I knew this had the potential to be pretty good. In today’s world we’re swamped by television being so in depth with famous people that it sometimes crosses the line of being too in depth. Drama is everywhere we turn. So having a show dedicated to the secret behind the scene life of toys isn’t that far fetched…just joking. But you have to admit that actors selling you lines about their real relationships with a toy Elmo is damned funny. This project encompassed every program that I’ve every used into one 4 and a half minute romp into hilaritum. So don’t think so hard, sit back, and try to imagine the pimp that Elmo really is.

The Elmo Story

Transition of frame

So to accomplish the goal for this part of the project I decided to make this small Elmo part a segment of a bigger show. To make it work I gave the impression that the viewer is flipping through channels like many of us do and lands on the show fresh from a commercial break. I watched a lot of 'Sportscentury' which inspired my 'Toycentury' and since the tale is a heartbreaking one, soft glows and smooth transitions were made instead of something that would knock you out of the scene.
